The Foundation Set — Extruder Dies
Hand fatigue is a production killer. Every other clay extruder on the market whether it is a barrel, lever, or wall-mount extruder still requires you to push, squeeze, or crank through the whole extrusion. This doesn't. Drop a die into your standard home meat grinder machine, load your clay, use the auger to push the clay through, and let the motor do the work. Consistent coils, minimal effort.
The Foundation Set is the essential starting collection for motorized clay extrusion. Six production-grade dies covering basic shapes every hand-builder uses.
Motorized Extrusion: Dramatically less effort than any barrel or wall-mount extruder. Load clay, push down the auger, press the button, collect your coils.
Six Production Dies: Single ribbon, double tube, hollow tube, fine multi-strand, triple coil, and thin strip.
Studio-Grade Build: Printed in our signature Purple PETG. Waterproof, clay-resistant, and built for studio use.
Whimsical Utility: Turn a $40–80 meat grinder into a motorized clay extruder.
Studio Specs:
What's Included: 6 x Extruder Dies
Die Diameter: 55mm (without tabs)
Weight: Approximately 1.6 oz (45g) per set
Compatibility: Standard #8 meat grinder.
Care Instructions:
Hand Wash Only: Cool soapy water and a soft brush.
Keep it Cool: PETG loves the studio but hates the kiln. Do not exceed 160°F (70°C).
Safety: Always unplug your grinder before installing or removing dies.
Pro Tip: Softer, well-wedged clay extrudes most cleanly. Stiffer reclaim clay works but may require slower feed speed.
Free standard shipping in the United States
Note: Requires a standard #8 electric meat grinder (not included). Standard #8 sizing should fit most small home size #8 grinders — verify your retaining ring diameter before ordering.
Don't have a #8 grinder yet? We use, tested, and recommend the Gourmia Electric Meat Grinder or the
Weston Electric Meat Grinder & Sausage Stuffer in our studio.
